Medicare Coverage

The VivaLift!® Tranquil 2 PLR935M uses an electric seat-lift mechanism associated with HCPCS code E0627. Medicare may cover the medically necessary electric seat-lift mechanism portion of the chair when applicable Medicare requirements are met. The furniture or recliner portion of the chair is generally not covered.

Medicare coverage requires medical necessity and appropriate documentation from the treating practitioner. Eligibility may include individuals with severe arthritis of the hip or knee or certain severe neuromuscular conditions who are unable to stand from a regular chair but can walk after reaching a standing position.
