VivaLift!® Tilt

Exclusive VivaLift!® Tilt gives the Ultra an additional range of movement beyond conventional reclining.

Rather than moving only the backrest and footrest, the Ultra can pivot from the rear of the chair and raise the front of the seat. This allows the user’s knees to be elevated above heart level and creates a comfortable, weightless-style reclining position.

When combined with True-Infinite positioning, VivaLift! Tilt gives users additional flexibility to create comfortable positions for reading, watching television, resting, relaxing, or elevating the legs.

True-Infinite Positioning

The Ultra’s True-Infinite positioning system allows the backrest and footrest to move independently from one another.

Instead of being limited to a small number of preset reclining positions, users can adjust different areas of the chair separately to create a seating position that better matches their individual comfort preferences.

Users can sit more upright, elevate their legs, recline the backrest, or combine adjustments with VivaLift! Tilt to create a personalized resting position.

Medicare Coverage

HCPCS Code: E0627 – Electric Seat Lift Mechanism

The VivaLift!® Ultra PLR4955S contains an electrically operated seat-lift mechanism associated with HCPCS E0627. CMS identifies E0627 as the billing code for an electrically operated seat-lift mechanism.

When a seat-lift mechanism is incorporated into a complete chair, Medicare treatment of the components is different. The potentially covered DME component is the seat-lift mechanism, while the chair or furniture portion is separately treated as a non-covered component. Coverage requires the applicable Medicare medical-necessity and documentation criteria to be met.

Medicare Part B generally covers medically necessary DME when eligibility and coverage requirements are satisfied. After the Part B deductible, a beneficiary generally pays 20% of the Medicare-approved amount when the supplier accepts assignment. Actual coverage and out-of-pocket responsibility depend on medical necessity, documentation, eligibility, supplier participation, and Medicare’s final claim determination.
