VivaLift!® Tilt

Exclusive VivaLift!® Tilt gives the Ultra additional positioning flexibility beyond a conventional power recliner.

Instead of relying only on the movement of the backrest and footrest, the chair pivots from the rear and gently raises the front of the seat. This positioning can elevate the knees above heart level and create a comfortable weightless-style resting position.

When combined with True-Infinite positioning, VivaLift! Tilt provides greater flexibility for reading, watching television, elevating the legs, resting, or simply finding a preferred relaxation position.

True-Infinite Positioning

The Ultra’s True-Infinite positioning system allows the backrest and footrest to move independently.

Users can adjust different areas of the chair separately rather than being limited to a small number of fixed recline positions.

Medicare Coverage

HCPCS Code: E0627 – Electric Seat Lift Mechanism

The VivaLift!® Ultra PLR4955M contains an electric seat-lift mechanism associated with HCPCS E0627.

Medicare may cover the medically necessary electric seat-lift mechanism portion when applicable coverage requirements are satisfied. The upholstered furniture or recliner portion of the chair is generally not covered as durable medical equipment.

Coverage may require the seat-lift mechanism to be medically necessary and prescribed as part of the treating practitioner’s course of treatment. Applicable criteria can include qualifying medical and mobility limitations, inability to rise from a conventional chair, and the ability to walk after reaching a standing position.

Appropriate medical documentation and a practitioner’s order are required when Medicare coverage is being requested.

After the Medicare Part B deductible is met, Medicare generally covers 80% of the Medicare-approved amount for qualifying covered DME, with the beneficiary generally responsible for the remaining 20% when the supplier accepts assignment.
